- And Finally… Dishoom Review
Hello healthy people,
Spring has sprung! Early! No further comment from this committed environmentalist. Coco the fitness pug loves it. She’s now 5 years old – time flies! Our vet tells me she is lean and muscular for a pug, with a strong heart. Apparently nearly 60% of British pets are overweight or obese, which can lead to many (expensive and perhaps avoidable) health complications. If Coco did what she wanted, she would eat everything and sleep all day. She can be a bit reluctant to get out, but she loves it when she gets started. Sound familiar?
Did you know you can bring your dog along to Personal Training sessions at Griffen Fitness?
Testimonial of the Month
Training couples together is one of my favourite things: being together they motivate each other, sometimes compete against each other and also have a laugh together.
“My partner and I did a couple of 5 session blocks. We were at different levels of fitness and motivation but Tracy made each one work for both of us and kept us engaged with a range of cardio, strength and stretching. No hesitation in recommending Tracy to sort you out!” Katie B
Easy Healthy Recipe: Guacamole Griffenstyle
Do you leave your avocados to ripen too long? No fear, mash ‘em up and enjoy super simple guaca… So good for you!
1 avocado
½ lemon, juiced
Small bit of red onion or spring onion, very finely chopped
Dash Tobasco sauce (or big dollop of Los Cardos salsa)
Ground black pepper, to taste
– Cut the avocado in half, twist and remove stone. You can use the sharp end of a knife to do this.
– You can either spoon out the flesh, or chopped destoned halves into quarters and peel off peel, then chop.
– Mash together with the rest of the ingredients. Serve with anything.
Recommended Reading: A Very Good Time Management Book
Lots of people tell me that they don’t have enough time to exercise. So I like putting together workouts that fit easily into busy lives. But instead of juggling life, sometimes time management can really help. An excellent book about making more time in your life is ‘Off the Clock – Feel Less Busy While Getting More Done’ by Laura Vanderkam. The title speaks for itself; it’s a very easy read (short chapters) and well worth a gander.
And Finally…. Virtuous Health Tonics from Bombay with Love
I’m into month three of my year off booze, and enjoyed reviewing Dishoom’s ‘Dry Tipples’ cocktail menu for Bite Magazine recently. Highly recommended for a treat, the short mocktails really are very authentic.
Have a happy and healthy March,
Tracy 🙂
