Hello healthy people,
Welcome back to the old format.
Thanks for all of your feedback, and we’re combining the best of both worlds, a written newsletter with videos. Check out my new YouTube video filmed in my kitchen; how to make hummus in under three minutes. There’s also Coco aplenty at the end of the newsletter, especially for pug lovers. If you’re looking to fast track your fitness for the warmer months, I currently have a 6.15pm Wednesday PT spot available, as well as some off-peak (weekday daytime) availability – just drop me a line…A Party Invite for You
Griffen Fitness will be ten years old on 14th April. Ten years of running around the lovely green spaces of Edinburgh, motivating individuals in the studio, private homes and workplaces and ten glorious years of talking about one of my favourite topics… food. To celebrate a decade of Griffen Fitness, we’re inviting you to an Open Evening at the studio. We’d like to thank you all for your support over the last ten years with some healthy nibbles, music, mocktails, informal banter and perhaps a Spacehopper race. You can RSVP to the Facebook invite here or simply pop by from 5pm on Tuesday 14 April, we’d love to see you!Easy Recipe video: How to make hummus in under three minutes
As it says on the tin, watch my new clip for a real-time demo of hummus making – a healthy and tasty spread, which is a good source of vegetable protein and great for energy on the go.
The ingredients are simple:
– tin chick peas
– juice of one lemon
– a clove of garlic (or to taste)
– a dessertspoon of tahini
– a dessertspoon of olive oil
– a splash of water
Fad or Fab: Moves App
I’ve been holding off writing about this app as I wanted to make sure that it’s as fabulous as I initially thought. Moves is a free smartphone app that tracks your movement. I use it every day. There have been other GPS apps over the last few years, but they zap the phone batteries. One time we cycled to Gullane to meet a friend and I was tracking the ride using Endomondo app. By the time we had got there my phone was flat, so I couldn’t call her to meet. Frustrating. The difference with Moves is that you have it running on your phone all day, so it acts as a pedometer (as long as you are carrying it!). Not only this, but it can determine if you’re walking, running or cycling (or even in motorised transport) and it maps where you have been for the day. It’s fun to review how many steps you’\zve taken for the day, and it’s very motivating. I only wish it linked in with myfitnesspal (my favoured food diary app).
And Finally… Coco TV
Have a happy and healthy start to spring,
