Strength and Ozempic

Strength Training for Weight Loss

Weight loss injections are the newest trend. Originally formulated to manage type 2 diabetes, they’re theoretically only prescribed by the NHS if excess body weight is causing health issues. However they’re easy enough to buy online under brand names Wegovy, Mounjaro or Ozempic. Whilst it’s good that these innovative drugs are widely available, it’s important to have adequate supervision.

Weight loss injections work by reducing hunger signals and slowing time of gastric emptying. Simply put, you don’t feel so hungry, so you eat less. They don’t teach you how to eat better, but some users report feeling a life-changing liberation from hunger.

The idea is you stay on the injections for as long as you need to achieve a reduced weight. In December 2025 it was widely reported that when you stop the injections, it’s usual for the excess body weight to return. Sad, but true.

Additionally, 40% of rapid weight loss can be muscle. This is why undertaking strength training in parallel with weight loss injections is crucial. You don’t want to end up worse off than when you started! By incorporating strength exercises, you can ramp up metabolism and improve posture and quality of life. When you know how, strength exercises can be easily done from home, no gym required.

Weight-loss pharmaceutical tools are a blessing for many, but it’s crucial to change lifestyle, habits and eating patterns for long-term success.
