Hello healthy people,
August is going to be a bit different from planned (not just with a lack of Edinburgh festivals), all indoor exercise sessions in Scotland are prohibited until September 14, and so the studio remains closed, used only for webcam workouts… and pop-up shops!
Both webcam workouts and outdoor training sessions have been going well – I currently have daytime availability if you can’t wait for the studio to reopen. In fact, if you pick up a Scotsman newspaper this Saturday you’ll see outdoor PT sessions with Griffen Fitness featured in the magazine section. In other media, studio resident Coco the fitness pug is featured in the latest issue of Your Dog magazine.
Fingers crossed for dry weather over the next month! Photo is husband Andy and I enjoying a Scottish summer walk near Glencoe.
Testimonial of the Month
“I have been working with Tracy for 7 months, following early retirement with MS. Tracy’s 1-1 sessions are great fun and upbeat. Even on a really bad MS day, I can contact Tracy and she will adapt the session to what I can do that day. Tracy does the exercises with you, which is really beneficial if I’m having a “brain fog” day. Tracy gives lots of feedback, so you know how you are doing and what you need to do or change.
Skype sessions during the lockdown have been so beneficial for me, being in the vulnerable group. I really look forward and really enjoy the Thursday session. I have a great MS team of specialist people, who aid me to stay independent, mobile and mentally healthy. Tracy is most definitely a valued member of that team. Highly recommend Tracy and Griffen Fitness, whether you have a disability or not.” – Jeanette R, July 2020
Article: 7 Minute Energiser YouTube Workout
Webcam workouts are the new normal, and here’s a wee 7 minute YouTube video of my Energiser warm-up. It’s a great way to get muscles moving in the middle of a working day, especially if you’re chained to your laptop – free those shoulders and feel energised!
You can find a few Griffen Fitness playlists on Spotify, here’s my favourite eighties playlist… What’s your fav playlist?
And Finally… The Return of Balfour Street Boutique
A socially-distanced pop-up shop seems so… now. On Saturday 22 August, the Balfour Street Boutique pop-up shop will be revived in the studio (no fitness, only shopping). Facebook event page can be found here. There will be tables of crafts, plants and other good stuff – there’s still space, so if you know a crafty person who would like to sell their wares, ask them to drop me a line.
Have a happy and healthy August,
